Busch Bare Reflections
Busch Bare Reflections gives leafless trees and pale clouds a spacious lake to echo across, finding detail in an uncluttered shoreline.

Room for the branches
A loose row of trees stretches across the middle of the photograph, each trunk making a dark mark against the bright sky. The water repeats those marks below, with ripples softening their edges into fine horizontal lines.
The clouds supply most of the movement. Some are compact and bright, others stretch into thin streaks across the upper blue. The bare branches make that changing sky unusually visible, turning the shoreline into a delicate screen rather than a dense border.
The place behind the image
MDC purchased the area from the federal government in 1947. MDC's Busch area guide provides the location context; check the official visitor information for current access and conditions.

Keep the broad proportions in print. The space between the two groups of trees is part of the subject, not empty space to trim away. Explore prints and available merchandise for Busch Bare Reflections.
