Geese on Lake 15
Geese on Lake 15 leaves room around its birds, setting a small gathering on open water beneath a generous blue sky.
Bill and Linda Tiepelman ·

A small flock in a large landscape
The geese cluster just left of center, each bird making a small warm mark against the lake. Fine ripples spread across the foreground. Along the far shore, a loose row of trees gives the water a low, uneven boundary.
The birds are deliberately modest in scale. Their presence makes the lake feel inhabited without turning the image into a close-up wildlife portrait. Large white clouds repeat the scattered rhythm of the flock above, connecting the quiet activity below to the wider landscape.
The place behind the image
The lakes attract both waterfowl and wading birds. MDC's Busch area guide provides the location context; check the official visitor information for current access and conditions.
