Klondike Cove
Sunlight slips between trees at Klondike Cove, warming a sheltered pocket of water and the textured rock along its edge.

Light finds the cove
The sun shines through the left side of the treeline, turning nearby leaves bright gold. Across the cove, the rock face catches warmer tones of its own. The water draws both sides together, carrying a dark green reflection with flashes of yellow and pale stone.
The cove feels enclosed without feeling cramped. Trees make a loose arch around the water, and the bright opening at the left gives the scene depth. Look for the slender branches and trunks inside the reflection; they add a fine network of lines beneath the larger patches of color. The archive filename is Klondike Cove 2, while the published artwork title is Klondike Cove.
The place behind the image
Klondike preserves a former quarry landscape. See the county’s park information for background, and the current visitor page when planning an outing.
