Klondike Park Quarry Lake
Klondike Park Quarry Lake brings a pale shoreline and delicate autumn color together in a clear, balanced reflection.
Bill and Linda Tiepelman ·

Pale stone, blue water
The light bank reaches from the left toward the center, tapering into the water. Trees of different heights rise behind it, with yellow leaves scattered among greens and bare branches. Below, the lake repeats the whole arrangement in blue, green, and gold.
The brightest rock gives the eye a place to begin, but the smaller trees reward a second look. Their thin trunks and uneven spacing keep the scene from becoming too symmetrical. The archive filename is Klondike Park Autumn Lake 2; the public artwork title distinguishes this particular quarry-lake view from the separate Klondike Park Autumn Lake image.
The place behind the image
The lake sits within a former silica quarry. See the county’s park information for background, and the current visitor page when planning an outing.
