The View From Klondike Overlook
The View From Klondike Overlook opens across treetops and the river valley beneath a glowing sky, with industry visible on the horizon.
Bill and Linda Tiepelman ·

A view with more than one story
The nearest trees form a dense, textured carpet of green and gold. At the right, a rocky edge leads outward toward the distance. At the left, industrial stacks rise beyond the trees, while bright cloud edges draw attention back across the sky.
This view includes the working landscape as well as the scenic one. The structures are part of what can be seen from the overlook, and their straight lines contrast sharply with the irregular canopy below. Look from the foreground rock to the low horizon: each layer becomes finer and less distinct, building the sense of distance that makes an elevated viewpoint so compelling.
The place behind the image
The bluff looks across the Missouri River Valley. See the county’s park information for background, and the current visitor page when planning an outing.
Picture it on your wall
A broad print retains the rocky edge and the distant structures together. Those details distinguish this photograph from a more generic autumn panorama. Explore prints and available merchandise for The View From Klondike Overlook.
